Irgendwo zwischen verträumtem Rock und verzerrtem Shoegaze schwingt die Musik von Karim G. Was als Soloprojekt begann, weitete sich nach und nach auf eine 5-köpfige Band aus. Diese adaptiert und erweitert die Songs, um sie live zu performen. Karim G’s Musik nimmt einem auf eine Reise mit, die sowohl Höhenflüge als auch melancholische Tiefs enthält. Getragen von der Faszination für neue Klangwelten. Ich bin 23 Jahre alt und bewege mich seit mehreren Jahren in verschiedenen Formationen in der Zürcher Musikszene. Über die Zeit durfte ich schon über 60 Konzerte an Orten wie der Roten Fabrik, dem Stall6 oder auch im Sender GDS.FM spielen. Auch schon Auftritte in Frankreich und Deutschland gehörten dazu. Bei der Musik dieses Projektes nehme ich alle Instrumente selber auf und produziere und mische die Songs allein. Bisherige Veröffentlichungen wurden bereits auf SRF3, Couleur3(RTS), Radio3Fach und weiteren Sendern gespielt. Seit dem Sommer 2022 bin ich auch bei Piet Alders Label „Taxi Gauche“ dabei. Begonnen hat dieses Soloprojekt, wie viele andere auch, während dem ersten Corona-Lockdown. Mit dem beklemmenden Gefühl der eigenen vier Wände beschäftigt, war die Musik damals lange Zeit das einzige Ventil, um die aufgestauten Emotionen zu verarbeiten. Auch jetzt noch arbeite ich stetig und mit grosser Freude an diesem Projekt weiter. (ENGLISH VERSION) Karim G’s music can be described as a mixture of dreamy rock and distorted shoegaze. What began as a solo project gradually expanded to a 5-piece band. Together we adapt the songs to make them suitable to be played live. Karim G’s music takes you on a journey that includes both ecstatic highs and melancholic lows, always carried by the fascination for new soundscapes. My name is Karim Gandouli, I am 22 years old and I’ve been active in various bands in the Zurich music scene for several years. Over time I have already been able to give over 60 concerts at places such as the Rote Fabrik, Stall6 or the radio station GDS.FM. Appearances in France and Germany have also been part of it. The music of this project is produced, recorded and mixed by myself. My current releases were also played on stations like SRF3, Couleur3 (RTS), Radio3Fach and others.
